In India, Agar-Agar is known as China Grass in English, Kadal Paasi in Tamil, and Junnu Gaddi in Telugu. It is also known as Kanten, Japanese Isinglass. It is obtained from RED ALGAE (a type of SEAWEED) and used as a vegetarian substitute for gelatin.
