Mulaikattiya Pachai Payaru Sweet Sundal Recipe is prepared with Pachai Payaru Sprouts/Green Gram Sprouts as the main ingredient and flavoured with jaggery, cardamom powder and coconut. Mulaikattiya Pachai Payaru Sweet Sundal Recipe also includes a pinch of salt and a tablespoon of ghee to enhance the taste of this dish.

INGREDIENTS

Pachai Payaru Sprouts/Green Gram Sprouts - 1 cup
Jaggery Powder - 3/4 cup
Salt - 1 pinch
Coconut (Grated) - 1/4 cup
Cardamom Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Water - 2 cups + 1/4 cup
Ghee - 1 tablespoon

INSTRUCTIONS

1. To begin making this Mulaikattiya Pachai Payaru Sweet Sundal Recipe - Firstly, Wash the Pachai Payaru Sprouts/Green Gram Sprouts once and keep all the ingredients.

2. To cook - In a pressure cooker add washed Pachai Payaru Sprouts/Green Gram Sprouts with 2 cups of water and cook for 2 whistles.

3. Turn off the flame. Let the pressure subside.

4. Open the pressure cooker and check for the doneness of Green Gram Sprouts. If it is softly cooked continue further with the recipe, if not cook until it softly cooks.

5. Heat a pan and add jaggery powder with 1/4 cup of water. Just melt the jaggery powder in the water.

6. Turn off the flame and filter the jaggery water.

7. Again heat the pan and add filtered jaggery water cook for 1 minute.

8. Now add softly cooked Green Gram Sprouts and stir well.

9. Add a pinch of salt, cardamom powder and grated coconut. Mix them well.

10. Turn off the flame and add a tablespoon of ghee. Give them a mix.

11. Mulaikattiya Pachai Payaru Sweet Sundal Recipe/Sprouted Green Gram Sweet Sundal Recipe is ready.
