Garlic Chutney/Poondu Chutney is mostly prepared as an accompaniment or as a spread for dosa, especially masala dosai. However, in this post, I've shared Sudu Kanji Chutney/Pachai Poondu Chutney/Raw Garlic Chutney, specifically Served for Sudu Kanji/Hot Rice Porridge/Rice Gruel recipe.

Sudu Kanji/Hot Rice Porridge/Rice Gruel is a traditional South Indian recipe and is mostly eaten during any health issues, particularly fever. While we have a fever, we mostly lose our taste buds and we don't like to eat anything. That's the time we crave something simple, soothing and refreshing food. At my home, when someone is sick, my mom mostly prepares sudu kanji and in most south Indian homes will do the same. To accompany sudu kanji/rice porridge, paruppu thogayal or thengai thogayal or poondu thogayal are usually prepared. I'm sharing the Poondu Thogayal/Garlic Chutney recipe in this post. Insha Allah, in future I'll share other chutney recipes.
